A Fond Farewell and a Warm Welcome!

So here we are! The transition between session 1 and session 2. It has been very sad to say goodbye to all the children and staff from the first session, but that is equaled only by the joy of welcoming the session 2 campers to TIV!

In this second issue of the TIV online newsletter, we will be taking a look back at some of the memories of the first session, including events such as the camp musical - "A Chorus Line" and the famous TIV "Woodstock". We will also be taking a look at how the second session children are settling into camp.

Session 2 Arrivals

Today Thoreau, Tomorrow Broadway!

One of the biggest events of session 1 was the long awaited performance of "A Chorus Line". The Broadway classic made it onto the stage at Thoreau in style. The cast, made up of children from various bunks at camp, worked hard for the whole session on the demanding dance sequences and the developing of their characters, not to mention their lines and songs! Their hard work had definitely paid off though, as the audience went wild throughout the whole performance. From solo dance performances to hilarious comedic characters, this production had it all. Thoreau is proud to have been able to stage and witness this event. Hey!, don't be feeling left out, as you can click on the link below to see more clips from the video footage taken on the night! Don't forget, at the end of the camp season we will be sending you info on how to obtain a copy of the performance for you to treasure on, for a small fee, on VHS.

So "Lights, Camera and...Click Me"! Enjoy.
